On June 21, 1995, Nanjing Automobile Manufacturing Plant, approved by the State Economic and Trade Commission, was renamed as Yuejin Automobile Group Co., Ltd., and Yuejin Automobile Group was established with Yuejin Automobile Group Co., Ltd. as the core.

On August 28, 2003, Nanjing Automobile Group Co., Ltd., which was jointly invested and restructured by five companies including Yuejin Automobile Group Co., Ltd., China Xinda Asset Management Co., Ltd., China Huarong Asset Management Co., Ltd., Jiangsu Guoxin Asset Management Group Co., Ltd., and Jiangsu Transportation Industry Group Co., Ltd., was officially unveiled.

Nanjing Automobile Group Co., Ltd. is a super large backbone automobile production enterprise in China. Nanqi currently has a total asset value of 12 billion yuan, covering an area of over 3.4 million square meters, with more than 14600 employees. It has 25 holding subsidiaries (including 7 Sino foreign joint ventures), 7 participating companies (including 2 Sino foreign joint ventures), and over 400 affiliated enterprises.

At present, we have four vehicle manufacturing companies, namely Nanqi Yuejin, Nanjing Fiat, Nanjing Iveco, and Nanqi New Yatu, producing over 400 varieties of cars under the four major brand series of Yuejin, Iveco, Fiat, and New Yatu. Our annual comprehensive production capacity is 200000 vehicles, and by the end of 2004, we had produced nearly 1.4 million vehicles.

In addition to the vehicle production company, Nanqi also has casting, forging, equipment, and a group of automotive parts enterprises, as well as 7 professional research institutes, technical centers, and national level automotive quality supervision, inspection, and testing institutes. Nanqi has the right to import and export foreign trade, a vocational education center jointly established by China and Germany, a postdoctoral research workstation, and the Yuejin Automotive Engineering Research Institute jointly established with Southeast University, Nanjing University of Science and Technology, Jiangsu University, Nanjing University of Technology, and Wuxi University of Light Industry. It has a relatively complete scientific research and production management system.

For many years, Nanjing Automobile Group has always implemented the national policies and guidelines on the reform and restructuring of state-owned enterprises. Through institutional and management innovation, it has formed a relatively standardized management system for parent and subsidiary companies. Through the introduction of foreign investment, asset restructuring, and divestment of auxiliary companies, it has achieved significant development.

In 1992, NAC entered the top ten in the statistics of China's top 100 industrial technology development enterprises. In June 1996, NAC was listed as 300 key state-owned enterprises by the State Economic and Trade Commission and the People's Bank of China. In 1997, NAC was listed as 120 enterprise pilot groups by the State Council. In 1999, the State Economic and Trade Commission approved the pilot scheme of Nanjing Automobile Group Co., Ltd.
